Israel Getting Defeated by Its Supporters

I usually like to stay away from politics but watching what is going on in Gaza I have to say a word or two. Israel seems to lose its high moral ground everytime one of its supporters goes on television. The other day Joshua Muravchik was on Aljazeera saying the stark fact that there is a disproportionate number of Palestinians killed was irrelevant. Why people in Israel let Muravchik speak on their behalf is something I find incredible. The man is very arrogant and, because of this, I think Israel is going to lose what matters the most, the world's sympathy.

I agree with you Jonathan.I don't even know why the Americans keeping backing Israel and veto any UN resolution which is aren't Israel. When it comes to the Zimbabwean situation they cry foul when South Africa,China and Russia veto their resolution. It is all not because Russians and Chinese like ZANU Pf and Mugabe regime, but they also want to show that America can not have her cake and eat it all by herself. I feel sorry for the people of Palestine. Vakuru vedu vakati panorwa nzou huswa ndihwohuno kufara. This is how the American policy is affecting any changes in Zimbabwe since it all goes back to two super powers fighting.

Sarudzayi, you have shot the arrow straight into the baboon's mouth. It is quite obvious that the big powers are always fighting proxy wars within the United Nations Security Council much to the detriment of common people. The USA vetoes anything that is against Israel and the Russians veto everything that is against one of its Slavic allies. The Chinese veto anything that is against their economic interests, which practically means anything against the world's most perfidious dictators running countries with a lot of natural resources. The Chinese would rather watch Africans in the Sudan or Zimbabwe die like fumigated flies and cockroaches as long as the supply lines of raw materials are not disrupted. It is a damning testament to mankind's wickedness.

The case of the Palestinians is really sad. It seems as if they are without friends in this world. Watching events and listening to comments on television, there sees to be little hope the European governments will help the Palestinians no matter how many demonstrations are held in London, Paris, Rome or Berlin. The inability of world leaders to stop the carnage is incredible.

Frankly, Israel has been a European problem for hundreds of years. The Europeans created the problem. The problem never went away, it was only moved to a different location. The Europeans would prefer to keep the problem right where it is, the Middle East, and away from their own backyard. Unless the Palestinians suddenly disappear from the face of this planet, the problem is not going away any time soon. It is quite tragic that the Palestinians have to bear the brunt of the sins committed in Europe.
